Grodno Azot, Grodno Khimvolokno, KuibyshevAzot talking over joint production of polyamide

Grodno Azot, Grodno Khimvolokno and Russian KuibyshevAzot are negotiating an opportunity to cooperate in the construction of a plant for PA-6 joint production, BelTA learnt from the Grodno Azot Company.

“We hope that the first results of the negotiations on a Belarus-Russia joint project will be received in late March,” Grodno Azot said.

Last year Grodno Azot exported more than 40% of its products. In 2009 the company drastically increased its deliveries of urea abroad. The export exceeded 400,000 tonnes. “We did the utmost to increase the sales and expand our markets,” the company stressed. Thus, in 2009 urea and ammonium mixture was first exported to Australia, ammonium sulphate - to Togo, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Equator, urea – to India and Spain.

The company’s export grew due to the high quality of its products. Last year the company audited six major types of its products and 30 consumer goods.

In 2009 Grodno Azot increased the production of commodities by 15.4% over 2008 to make almost Br1.4 trillion in comparable prices. In 2009 the company’s output in ammonium was 5.8% higher than in 2008. Urea manufacturing soared 9.8%, bio diesel fuel – 42.8%, consumer goods – 11%.

At the same time, taking into account a reduced demand on the foreign market, the production of liquid nitrogen fertilizer fell 16.8% and the make of technical methanol shrank by 47% in 2009.
