In Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation
focus is made on joint manufacturing projects and mutual investments,
Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Karanik told the media, BelTA has
learned. “The visit to Uzbekistan has once again confirmed that
interregional cooperation has a role to play in foreign trade. When we
take a closer look at each other's potential, we find partners who are
interested in supplies from Belarus. They include woodworking,
foodstuffs, and machinery products, which are really in demand in
Uzbekistan. We see that our brotherly Uzbekistan has been developing
rapidly. The country can provide us with the goods that we need. These
goods can replace components that have become difficult to access due to
sanctions or complex logistics,” Vladimir Karanik said. “We have already made an emphasis on joint manufacturing projects
and mutual investments. The Uzbek business community is interested in
investing in the economy of Grodno Oblast and Belarus as a whole. Our
producers show interest not only in supplying finished goods, but also
in organizing joint ventures and producing goods there,” he added. As a member of the Belarusian delegation the Grodno Oblast governor
took part in the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan in
Tashkent on 6-7 February.
