The 22nd Assembly of Business Communities is being held in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The
event provides an opportunity for Belarusian business leaders to
discuss industry challenges and tasks set by the head of state,
Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Artur Karpovich
said during the opening ceremony. “We have common goals, despite some
differences in opinions. We all understand that a strong state relies
on the coordinated efforts of both businesses and government agencies,"
he stated, adding that the ministry is prepared to address all pressing
business concerns.
One of the most relevant issues for business
leaders is Decree No. 713, which often becomes the topic of seminars,
hotlines, and consultations organized by the Belarusian Ministry of
Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade. "This year, we are also prioritizing
the sale of domestic goods in our market," the minister noted. "By doing
so, we are protecting our domestic market. We have also developed an
open agreement between government trade bodies and industrial
enterprises. Our common goal is to increase the share of domestic goods
in the near future." Co-chair
of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurship of Belarus and
Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Association of Entrepreneurship Igor
Chernyakov told journalists that holding of the assembly has become a
well-established tradition. "At this event, representatives of small and
medium-sized businesses engage in constructive dialogue with relevant
ministries and agencies, discuss pressing issues and develop solutions.
One of the key highlights of today's assembly is the competition for the
Best City (District) and Oblast for Business in Belarus 2024 award. For
17 years, we have assessed which regions in Belarus offer the best
conditions to develop business. These regions and their administrations
are then recognized at the assembly," he said.
The assembly
features a panel discussion titled "Investments. Innovations.
Technologies" and presentations by leaders of regional and industry
associations on key issues and priority directions for entrepreneurship
development in different areas.
Participating in the event are approximately 150 business
representatives from Belarus, high-ranking government officials, members
of parliament, representatives of country’s ministries and agencies,
heads of regional and industry associations, bank representatives,
business entities from Belarus and Russia, scientists, research
institutions, ambassadors, foreign guests, and media representatives.
