UNICEF representatives delivered humanitarian aid to the refugees stranded at the Belarus-Poland border, BelTA has learned.

The cargo includes hygiene kits for each family, as well as children's hygiene and education kits.

“This is not the first time we have delivered aid to refugees. Earlier, we sent blankets, warm clothes and shoes, including for women and children, through the Red Cross. The first batch was worth Br75,000. Today's batch includes education kits for children so that they can learn despite the difficult situation,” said Kristina Dulevich, communication specialist at the Belarus Office of the United Nations Children's Fund. According to her, the mission that came to the refugee shelter on 7 December will assess the children's condition and needs in order to provide them with the necessary assistance in the future.

Refugees have been stranded at the border for 30 days already. They are living in the temporary accommodation facility set up at the logistics center near the Bruzgi checkpoint. Humanitarian aid for refugees is collected by organizations, enterprises and the general public of Belarus and is delivered regularly. Refugees are provided with food, warm clothes, hygiene kits and other essentials.
